In what seems like a distress call, the residents of Magboro community at Obafemi Owode local govt has called on the state governor senator Ibikunle Amosun to intervene in a decade long power out in the area.
The resident made the call when blogger visited the area to access the road project which the governor promise to commission soon. According to Alhaji Ajani A.K.A (Baba Ibadan) we have done all we can to see that power supply is being restore to this community, we have held several meetings, sent people to the palace of Baale of magboro ,mr shofolahan,it has not yield positive result.
Magboro is 5 minutes drive to begger.All these cable that you see are all efforts of landlords who couphed out the sum of N 65,000. the money was used to connect cables from Redeemed camp, to this place
When asked, if they have meet with PHCN officials, he said” we have one time send delegate to PHCN,thety told us to get 10 landlords to pay for pre_paid mitre, a week after we gather all the money and paid to them,it more than a year now,we have not seen light.
in other interview with Mr Abidul, kabir who is a landlord in the area, he said the official of the phcn has promised to restore electricity, if we pay 2 month electricity bill in which many landlord declaim, saying that they can’t be fool twice. He further said that he has be residing in the area for almost 5 months and he is yet light
A man who identify himself as Akin said “ I left my electronic shop to carry passengers with motor cycle (okada) due to total black out here, many people has been forced out of job.
The residents begged the state governor senator ibikunle amosun to quickly come to their aid before the situation become worse.
Another person who simply identify herself as Iya Faithia says "i have known magboro for more than 20 years,their has never been light
Meanwhile,the chairman landlords association,baba ibadan, said that ogun state governor,senator ibikunle amosun has promise to see that people in the area enjoy power supply after the completion of the on- going road project
